October 7-8 In-the-Net Showcase was a success. The girls played 5 games this weekend in their first college showcase. Saturday the girls worked hard with great defense and pitching to keep the games within reach. They had timely hits and aggressive base running to put up 3 wins at the end of the day.

Sunday the girls started out with a tie against a very good Delaware 2nd year 14U team. Again the girls played great defense with very good pitching, but this day saw the bats come alive. Every girl got up and hit the ball hard. In the last inning the defense tightened up and turned a double play to stop the winning run from scoring.

The last game the girls turned the bats up to score 7 runs in the first inning to help them to a final score of 13-1. Again the defense was a rock with solid pitching to hold the opposing team to only 1 run.
