The Krunch 14U Blue start the 2018 winter tournament season off with a bang. The team played strong all day and finished runner up in the President's day Tournament held at Spooky Nook.

The first game against Towamencin Xplosion was a hard fought win. The girls jumped out to an early lead in the 1st inning and never surrendered the lead. They added another run in the 4th inning to win 3-1. Good pitching and timely hitting helped give the team the win.

The second game against Ashburn Shooting Stars was a heartbreaker for the team, as they lost the lead late in the game. The girls jumped out to an early lead in the first inning and then surrendered the lead in the top of the 3rd inning. This team never gave up and ended up tying the score 3-3 in the bottom of the 3rd. The Stars put 1 more run across the plate in the top of the 4th to win the game 4-3. The Krunch girls out hit the Stars and had zero errors but were not able to close out the game with the win.

The first elimination game was against the Ashburn Shooting Stars team. The game ended up going into ITB tied 2-2 with Krunch up to bat. The girls reeled of 10 runs in the top of extra innings to go up 12-2 and that ended up being the final score. With that win, the Team was in the championship game.

The championship game was against the SCC SWAT. It was a back and forth game that saw the SCC SWAT defeat the Krunch 6-5. The game was back and forth all game with the score ending up tied 5-5 going into the 5th and final inning.  Krunch was not able to plate any runs in the top of the 5th. SCC SWAT ended up with a runner on 3rd with their lead off hitter at the plate. With a 1-2 count she was able to single to center field allowing the go ahead run to cross the plate for the win.

All in all it was a very productive weekend for the first indoor tournament of the year. The girls have been putting in all the hard work during winter work outs and it definitely showed.
