16U Red opened their 2009 summer season Memorial Day weekend with a Gold Bracket Championship going 8-1 on the weekend and avenging their only loss in the Championship Game beating the Maryland Stars 9-0. Congratulations Ladies!!
The 16U Red took 2nd place in the 18U ASA National Qualifier in Collegeville. After dropping the first game of the double elimination tournament, the Krunch came ROARING back winning 4 straight through the losers bracket. The 2-0 loss in the Championship game capped a long but successful weekend.
The 16U Red ladies again took 2nd place at the Millhouse 18U tournament. They had to battle not only solid 18U teams but a flu bug that bit 5 players leaving them at less than full strength for the entire weekend. They showed tremendous heart and passion by playing through it and fighting to the embattled end.
The 16U Red showed their tenacity and passion as they swept (7-0) through the Millhouse Memorial 16U Tournament in Doylestown placing 1st and earning a bid to the prestigious ASA National tournament in South Dakota. Congratulations ladies!!
The 16U Red capped their amazing season with a 5th place finish at Pony Nationals in Akron OH. By going 3-0 in pool play, they earned a #1 seed in bracket play. After dropping the winner's bracket final 2-1, they fought back and avenged their only loss beating the same team 11-5, winning the bracket and guaranteeing their spot in the sweet 16. The Krunch ladies then won their first round game in ITB before getting beat by the eventual tournament runner-up. They ended the tourney with an 8-2 record and a 5th place finish!
