Krunch 16U Blue goes 4-1 to win the Lancaster Fall Showcase 16A Championship!

Saturday 8am start time ended in a tough loss to the Pegasus 16u Black team. Pegasus scored 2 runs in both the first and second innings. After the first 2 innings, the defense and pitching stepped up their game and allowed no more runs. The Krunch bats were pretty quiet for most of the game and could not get the one hit to spark a rally. The final score was 4-0.

The second game was against the PA Ballhawks 16U Futures team. Krunch got things rolling in the first inning putting up 1 run to win that inning. The second inning Krunch really opened up the scoring putting up 6 more runs and in the third inning they added 1 more run to seal the victory. The defense and pitching kept the pressure on allowing just 2 hits striking out 5 with 0 walks. The final score was 8-0.

The third game was against the Delco Diamonds 18U Showcase team. Krunch started off the first inning putting up 4 runs and allowing 0 runs. The second inning Krunch put up another run. The Krunch defense was firing on all cylinders and allowed no Delco player to cross the plate. Pitching was mowing down the batters striking out 6 with 0 walks and only allowing 4 hits. The final score was 5-0.

Sunday’s first game was against the Maryland Heat 16u team. The score was tied, 1-1, at the top of the third inning when Krunch put up 6 runs. In the top of the fifth inning, Krunch put 6 more runs up. The defense was rock solid again only allowing 1 run to cross the plate. The Krunch offense had 17 hits while the pitching gave up 5 hits, struck out 6 and walked 1. The final score was 13-1.

The championship game was against the Outlaws Premier 16U team. Krunch struggled to get things rolling offensively in this game. The defense and pitching were solid only allowing 4 runs on 6 hits with 5 strike outs and 2 walks. Going into the last inning Krunch was down 4-1 with the winning run at the plate and 2 outs. The offense stepped up pushing 1 run across the plate at a time until the winning run was at 3rd with the bases loaded. 4 straight balls by the Outlaws relief pitcher to walk in the winning run. Krunch wins the championship game with a final score of 5-4!
