Even with the cold temperatures at the Angles 4 Autism tournament, the Krunch 14U Blue team had hot bats, great pitching and one stellar defense. The Team ended up finishing the tournament in 3rd place, playing 5 games back to back on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Team handled the ShenVal Swarm 14U Gold team defeating them 10-3. The girls outhit the Swarm 16-6. The great pitching was backed up by some stellar defense that had 0 errors on the day.

The second game Saturday was against the Poison. The Team battled all the way to the end with the score being 7-5 Poison. The Team had solid pitching and a defense again committing 0 errors. The offense was able to put 5 runs on the board off 7 hits.

Sunday the Team started out the day with a 7-2 win against the Revolution 14U. Again, the pitching was top notch with a solid defense allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The girls scored their 7 runs off 5 hits.

Game 2 was a 2-0 loss against the Heartbreakers 04 team. It was a solid game for the girls with some good ball playing all around. There were 0 errors for the game by both teams. All the scoring was done in the second inning on 2 hits and a sac grounder. Then the defense for both teams stepped up and didn’t allow another run to cross the plate.

Game 3 was against the Lady Rev. The Team out hit the Lady Rev 12-4 with the final score being 9-1. It was another great defensive showing with 0 errors to back up some very good pitching. On offense, the bats were lively putting up 9 runs on 12 hits.

Game 4 was a hard-fought win. The Team trailed the PA Wild all game only to go ahead by 1 as time ran out in the top of the 5th inning. The PA Wild were able to score 1 run in the bottom of the 5th to force ITB. The Team came out swinging in ITB and put up 3 runs and shut down the PA Wild for the 11-8 win.

Game 5 was a tough loss to the Poison. Going into the 5th straight game with no break, the Team was a half-step slower than usual. They still were able to put up 6 runs off 9 solid hits.

Very proud of each of these young ladies. They dig deep and play for their Team and never give up, no matter what the score is. Great job Ladies!

Go Blue.
